Just curious, how junior is Decatur IL? Would a new FO be able to hold it out of training? The reason I ask is that Decatur is the closest cape base to me. Would it be possible to commute on cape aircraft from ORD to Decatur? After captain upgrade would I be able to keep Decatur easily. Thanks for the info.

I am somewhat familiar with Cape Air in Hyannis.
They are a very good operation and have just acquired the Tecnam P2012 Traveller. Its not on the line yet as there are some minor problems with the new Lycoming engine. Their pay rate is competitive as they were loosing pilots.

Hey, for the people flying at Cape already as captains. The 1st year pay guarantee is 36k, but they are advertising 80k average. I understand this is flying overtime and receiving incentive pay to fly on days off. The question here is, how much overtime and how many days off you have to be giving up to reach or get anywhere near 80k? I understand schedules are 4 on - 4 off or 4 on - 3 off. So if you wanna hit 80k, would you realistically fly 6 on - 2off / 6on - 1 off? How much are you getting paid per day off that you choose to fly?
Are these incentives available in all bases and how does it work?

I am at 415 TT with CFI, Commercial single/multi, instrument, and 40 hrs multi. Based on what I've read in this thread, it seems like I'd have a decent change of at least getting an interview once I hit 500. Does that sound about right? Also, how difficult is it to get a Caribbean base?
Thanks
Thanks

Is it possible to commute? I've read a bit and understand that even with a 4 on 3 off or 4/4 during my 4 on I would probably be back in base most of the nights. What I really mean is, if I have an apartment and car in base is there any reason I would have issues commuting back home on my days off? Is the schedule always 4 on 3 or 4 off, or is there reserve? Thanks.
