Centralized basing is great. Especially If you commute. The overnights you pick up $36 in per diem. Typically only fly 4 legs a day and I’ve been averaging 5 hrs flight time a day. It’s pretty laid back flying in Montana as well. Billings has been a secret of cape air but it’s not so secret anymore.

Hey guys. Quick questions. I’m currently sitting at 470TT with 235 x-country 64 instrument (actual & simulated) and 35 night. I expect to be at 500 by next month. Also I also have spatial disorientation training in a GAT-II and I’ve done hypoxia training. Im student at Embry-Riddle and won’t graduate till December. Training in progress is tailwheel transition and upset recovery training.

Should I wait until I have 500TT? What are my chances of getting an interview/job?

Did you get a CFI with all that time? If so, good chance you'll get a call. Might be closer to fall though? Sounds like that's when training will start back up for them. If not, someplace like NASA might like all that crazy stuff you've added on.

Thanks! I did all this through the years of renting. It’s mainly x-country and rest is flight training.

I do think having a CFI will put someone ahead of you for a call. If you find yourself sitting around waiting for a job, consider getting the CFI added on.

I agree. I’d add to that, that from what I’ve seen the guys that have degrees from the aviation university’s seem to get hired at low time with no CFI. I didn’t go to one, so not tooting my own horn, just stating what I’ve observed.

How much multi time do you have? I would say to send in a application. Right now new hire training is paused for the busy summer. The first class will be in October.

Hey Everyone. So I was supposed to be in the fall class, but I got a call today asking to come in and hot start July 9th. Anyone else going in as well?
