Key Lime??

I noticed Key Lime out of Denver is looking for Metro Captains.
I have a couple thousand hours left seat in the Metro from way back when. I'm furloughed and looking for something to pay the bills.

Any thoughts on Key Lime? Or is it a good idea to just stay on unemployment?

Thanks for your time,

Mike

Maybe you should do some reasearch first, they have people on furlough....so they are not hiring. Plus do a search on here there are plenty of threads about them.

I had a phone interview with them about 2 months ago. Didn't get much info directly from them, but you'll find plenty of information on here about why you shouldn't go there.

If you value decent aircraft and a good QOL then stay away from Key Lime. Plenty of threads on here why to stay on umemployment rather than fly for this outfit.

I've been trying to find threads on Key Lime for a while. There is one, with about 3 pages, that has a couple of people saying that the general feeling is stay away. Then there is one other that basically says "do a search." Can someone point me to the threads that I'm missing? Thanks!

Here's what I could find:

http://www.airlinepilotforums.com/pa...-lime-air.html

Basically, one guy saying stay away, others saying "Do a search."

And this, which had the most info:

A lot of second hand info, and not all that current. Any current Key Lime pilots want to chime in? Thanks!

Do what you got to do man QOL is not so real in todays market as long as its a safe opt and the pay is ok. you at least have work I have 9 friends out of work and this QOL that other pilots are talking about its important but right now that can wait. feed you family frist the rest will come. but thats just me I know most of the guys will say QOL first . but they have a job so they can say that. one of my friends has 2 kids and no job its been 8 months and now and its sad . so my point is take what you can get for now . and best of luck.

So I did a little search on the NTSB website. I really don't see how people come to the fact that its a shady operation. There were a couple of MX related accidents but every airline has those. Where WX was a factor I didn't not read a single one that stated "The ops guy said to fly or I was fired" It seemed like it was all the PIC's decision. That's something you would say to the NTSB if you were involved in anything.

If anything there training could use a revamp but I cant say for sure becuase no one will comment.

a guy asks hey whats up with Key Lime?

The responce he gets are "Dont do it" or "search". Theres no factual statments there and if he searches the threads say the same thing.

So what's the freaking deal? PM me if you like.

I'm based in Pueblo doing flight instruction. Key Lime Air comes in during the morning and downloads UPS from Denver. Then leaves in the evening for a stop in NM, AZ, and then back to DEN. At least that's what I think the route is. They also fly the Metro to Trinidad for about the same routing. Just different city pairs.

To be quite honest they are about the most upbeat pilots on the radio compared to the Lear, King Air, Beech Jet guys at PUB. I'm sure the layover at your 1st city out of DEN is long. They have a pay for training system which if you have time shouldn't need. I'm not sure how much they pay. Last time I hear anything it was typical of a 135 metro operation.

The only negative thing I've ever heard out on the Front Range about them is what was all ready said. Training and interview process needed revamped.

As far as if they are hiring. Airline Pilot Central doesn't always have the latest and greatest. You also have to look at when the sight was last updated. I put in for a job 4-6 months ago with them and was told if you meet 135 mins come on up.

Best of luck to you.

"The FAA has determined that the flight time is NOT loggable. Don't waste your money. The hours are no good."

Can you cite a source for this?
