Rapid City, SD Leads

Any one have any leads on potential employment in this area? The wife is PCS-ing to Ellsworth. Trying to go along with the family when they leave Colorado in January. I've posted to just about every operator in the region I can find but trying to see if I've missed any. Thanks.

I live in Rapid City. The aviation market here is the worst I've seen in any midwestern town. I'm fortunate enough to have a decent flying job with one of the two 135 operators on the field. As far as flying stuff goes, Air Methods runs an air ambulance operation (Black Hills Life Flight), Dale Aviation runs an air ambulance operation (Medical Air Rescue Corporation and PASSnet), and there is a small flight school that I believe is run by one gentleman who does all of the instructing. There are also a few corporate aircraft but several have shut down or seen aircraft reposessed in the last few months and a large portion are simply owner-flown single pilot operations.

I've done work in the past for Fightertown. Is it true that operation is no more?

Fightertown is over. The hangar is for sale, the G5 was sold to google and the helicopter is gone now as well.

Thanks for the info. I was just there over Labor Day weekend. The airport looked quite empty for jobs. I saw what you just said. I saw Fightertown there and got excited for a second until I saw crickets and cobwebs around the operation. Looks like nothing much is going to happen at RAP for sometime.

It’s been a while so I figured an update would be cool. Any new potential opportunities in this area, 135, corporate or anything? Is it still bad there or has it Improved?
