Seattle Area 135 info
I was wondering if anyone knew of anything in the Seattle area? I know of AeroFlight and Airpac. I have sent them my resume but so far no response from any of them. I have around 1,400 TT, 1,160 multi, 121 experience, 213 night and 223 instrument. Granted it isn't very impressive hours wise but I am current and have flown about 400 hours in the last 6 months. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Those are the only 135 freight outfits I can think of that you might have a chance at. Frankly, it seems Seattle is a tough market for pilot jobs, even during good times.
What are you doing now? Are you moving to the area?

If your thinking along the airline route...I would try Kenmore Air Express or Seaport Airlines. Kenmore is BFI based, and Seaport is PDX based, but quite a few guys commute. The best thing I would do is go down to Boeing field and walk into these places resume in hand. Most employers will be more likely to give you and interview if you show up at their doorstep.

As previously mentioned even during the good times Seattle is a difficult market.

Empire Air has a 208 base in SEA.
I think Sky is right on this one. Those smaller outfits know you will take the leap when/if the industry picks up. Kenmore isn't hiring express folks. I know, I have sent them e-mails, called, etc., just to try and get on with their FO program.
SEA is a like an aviation cul-de-sac. People think it is busy, but in reality the aviation job market there is only for the few and the rooted in the area.
You MIGHT try Snohomish Flying Service out of Harvey field. They stay pretty busy.
Sorry about the furlough. I'll buy you a beer when I get back home.

In my experience aeroflight and airpac avoid hiring pilots with over 200 hours of multi time. They want an indentured servant for at least 6 to 9 months. Pilots with more experience don't stay as long. Other part 135 outfits in the Seattle area have pilots on furlough.
As previously mentioned even during the good times Seattle is a difficult market.

BFI is a senior base due to the very small ammount of pa31's. Its almost all turbine. The chances of being hired into BFI arent good. The best bet would be portland which is pretty junior, a lot of pa31's. But I wouldnt expect another class till 2010.
