Default high minimums captains

Does someone know if a PC-12NG is a different type than a series 9 PC-12? I am curious to know if I will be a high mins captain in the NG, even though I have several hundred hours in the series 9 PC-12.

P.S. I have no time in the PC-12NG

Not sure, but I don't think so, your time in the straight PC-12 should count towards that...

Pretty sure the "NG" stands for next generation, which usually means basically an avionics upgrade from earlier models. Don't quote me.

The NG has an all-glass Honeywell Primus Apex avionics and an improved PT6 engine allowing for more max continuous power. When I was at SIMCOM Lee Vista training center for TBM850 recurrent back in August. I checked out the NG SIM the cockpit is impressive compared to the classic. The TBM 850 G100 Sim was not approved to for use to do an IPC in so we did one approach in the PC 12 classic sim to satisfy the FAA and then they let us sit in the PC 12 NG sim which was in testing.

Enjoy I have always wanted to fly the PC-12

That generally holds true.
