Working at Delta Private Jets

For new pilots (within the last year) the pay was set at $40,000 for FOs and $60,000 when they upgrade (however, I would not be surprised if they raise that soon). Per diem is $1.88/hr. While we don't have separate vacation or sick time, we get paid time off. That lets us take one 8 day rotation off (with 6 days on either side of that means you have 18 days off in a row), and then you still have enough time for 5 days worth of paid sick days a year.
I don't know what the high utilization (more than 5 doctor visits per year per person) healthcare plan costs are, but the low utilization healthcare plan costs are: Single: $22/month, Family: $140/month.
No one is saying this place is great, but if you need TPIC, you are likely to be much happier at DPJ than a regional.

I agree DPJ is better than a regional. It's still not a career company but rather a stepping stone. Also, you speak of the ability to take PTO. Is it not true that PTO has to be approved? Also, you have to find another pilot to work those 8 days? Then pay that pilot back 8 days?

It does have to be approved to make sure every aircraft is crewed 100% of the time. DPJ hires pilots ahead of aircraft now, so there should be more pilots than required. There are reserve pilots to cover PTO and there is incentive pay for pilots to pick up extra days if they run out of reserves, so you don't have to worry about looking for another pilot to cover your days and paying that pilot back, scheduling takes care of that and hence approves your PTO. Like you said, not a career place (like most aviation jobs), but I worked at a regional that supposedly had the best contract but that airline still was able to cancel my vacation once due to staffing.

Nubie Question:
Since it is a home based company, could I change where I call home a few times a year? Not excessive like 2 -3 times. North in summer south in winter?
Would that be a problem?
Thanks.

I have my 2nd video conference (this time 2 way) next week. I appreciate the information.
It seems they aren't having problems getting people. They are interviewing for a pool they don't have any current openings they said today on the phone.

See the previous post I made about upgrades. If you know your stuff and and impress people, there is nothing stopping you from upgrading in 3 months. Some people don't know their stuff (ie. don't know how to use the checklist), so they take longer.
