That completely sucks. Now I'm wondering why the tower made him go around so many times. The news article said he indicated to the tower that there was a malfunction with the gear. ???

Yeah, burn the pilot! Heaven knows a "new hire" has all the insight about the company and planes.

I was in the pattern that night. The winds were quite high, gusting to 37kts, with a 30 kt crosswind component. Several aircraft went around at BFI and SEA. We didn't even start the approach because it exceeded our 21kt crosswind limit. We entered a holding pattern just northwest of the field to wait in case the winds died down. When approach control told us the runway was now closed, we diverted to Bellingham.

For the life of me why would you continue to try and land with winds like that, divert. Idk
