Kudos to the pilots for getting it on the ground safely.

Saw the captain today and he's ok.

Anyone know the cause of the malfunction?

Ouch. Good to see they walked away.

Just a WAG, but I hope it wasn't a "Whats that horn for" incident.

I heard it was gear up landing after a few attempts in adverse conditions

Gee, where did you hear that from? An AMF pilot or a news article?

The only guys left there that are flying the Metro are high-time line captains and training captains. I don't think he would have brought it in without trying every last option. I'm surprised the emergency gear extension didn't work. I had 1 gear problem in the Metro, but it was just the left main, not the entire system... and it came down after the second attempt. I'll be interested to see what the verdict is on the cause.

Heard it from "The Company" of course. Apparently the pilot did a few go-arounds and on the 3rd landing forgot the gear. Stuff happens. At least he is safe.
