It's all time in the logbook and good time for that matter any way you look at it. Pick an aircraft or the type of flying (121/135/91) that you enjoy and not just pick something that has a lot of glass and shiny buttons and be miserable.
To meet the mins for Ameriflight of 1200TT what type of aircraft does this need to be in? Can it be mainly Cessna 150/172 time, which 200 ME Apache time?

Ameriflight is looking really appealing to me. How long would it take to build 1000 hours of twin turbine time (PIC)? How difficult is it to get based out of Cinncinnati?

Default AMF in CVG

sscottky72,

Right now we need Metro pilots in CVG. We one opening for a Brasilia Fo in Charlottesville, VA and multiple Metro openings in CVG. If you want to go to CVG it is pretty easy to get the base. They operate on 3 weeks on 1 week off schedule.

When you say 3 on 1 off, does that include weekends or do you have weekends off? So a guy can build twin turbine relatively quickly at CVG also?

In order to go straight into the 1900 or Metro, you'll need 2500 TT 1000 Multi and 750 Turbine PIC. Otherwise you'll have to start out in the chieftain or 99 if your lucky.
Plan on approx 600 hrs a year. I never flown for the CVG base so I couldn't really tell you exactly how many hours a year. But all they do is on-demand charter, mostly for the automotive industry with some medical.

No weekends off. No such thing as an upgrade in CVG. You have to qualify for the postition to go there. Chances are that the Bro FO won't upgrade for years, the pilots that are there aren't too eager to leave.

OK now I am confused. I thought it was wide open at CVG for the Metro. Now I'm hearing that it's not?

Yeah, there is room for Metro Captains in CVG, but in order to go to CVG you have to meet the mins for Metro Captain to begin with. They don't have any cheiftons or 99's in CVG. There is no upgrade time and they don't want low time captains. The flying they do requires that the pilot be efficient and comfortable with the aircraft. Nearly everything is Adhoc and time sensitive.

That is assuming that the base stays open.
