"When the Fun Stops"....
While this thread is kind of reminding me of that gambling addiction brochure from in the casinos, "When the Fun Stops", I still encourage you guys to keep up the good work there even when times are bleak.
Believe it or not, before Contract 2005, things looked pretty bleak according to my friends from Netjets. They only had 5 outstations that they had to be at 12 hours before their shifts started and starting pay on an Ultra was $35,000. Granted, they were a lot bigger, but the economy was between disasters and things were still pretty bad there.
From my past experience, sometimes the biggest foes of an organized pilot group are new-hires, particularly the former Military pilots who aren't used to the 121 or 135 worlds. And like aspiring starlets who show up in Hollywood to get on the Silver Screen, only to find themselves in Van Nuys acting in a different segment of the film industry, they are in shock and disbelief when they see some of the goings on, especially in the 135 world.... However, after some time on the property they became some of the most outspoken advocates and leaders of the pilot group. Who am I, you might be asking, but I urge you all to talk and join forces to make TMC a better place to work. I have seen it before at worse places, believe it or not.
Best of luck to my friends there.... and like the late, great Rodney King once said... "Can't we all just get along?"
OK, back to the regularly scheduled programing... Anybody got any negotiation updates?

Bye Bye Hawker
An update: It was just announced that the Hawker 800XP/850XP fleet will be completely parked by the end of the month.
All 800 crews will apparently be given the opportunity to transition to the Beechjet, and seniority should still rule in the fallout. This will likely shake up schedules significantly, and it is unclear whether any more hiring off-the-street will occur in the near future. It seems that staffing problems will be fully mitigated with the parked airframes...
...depending on the size of the expected Hawker pilot exodus.

Dirt in the face of people who worked hard to support the union and paid dues from the beginning. Now I’m no better than a certain someone we have all recovered flights for. I should break my airplane and go back to bed.
