I guess depending on your outlook on life it either really sucks to be deployed right now or it really sucks to be home. Some guys are gonna be swimming in the money and the rest of us are gonna go broke. On the bright side I’ve got a full month with the kiddos since school is shut down.

Not sure if anyone is interviewing right now but I don’t expect this virus to affect the ISR industry long term. Right now our guys who are deployed are stuck downrange for the duration and guys who are home won’t be deploying for the duration. Hiring may very well pick up when all the dust settles. I would imagine some of the guys who got stuck out there will be sick of it by the time they get back and quit and some of the guys stuck at home will find other work if they can.

Full benefits coverage is about $750 per month based on my pay stubs. That includes Health and dental insurance with dependents, life insurance for self and dependents, short and long term disability, salary protection, etc. I think the only option I elected out of was legal services. I haven't had any claims with Cigna yet, so I am hopeful it is just as great as Aetna was the last four years. That will be telling.

I think it is mostly related to the drawdown. That writing has been on the wall for a long time. I am also speculating that the DOD's budget requests are not being met to help pay for all the COVID relief efforts. If it makes you feel better, the planes are not being divested. The end user will eventually find a need for them and will need people to fly them. Who knows when that will be.
