Any idea if you guys can carry jumpseaters between SJU and STT?

Thanks.

Which base has the most flying?

El Pilot 01-11-2017 01:58 PM

When is the next hiring window for FO's? Chances of getting KMDT or KSBO?

Not sure. KMDT is very senior. You could probably hold KSBO though.

Pretty sure. Contact the company directly

BPilot5534 01-13-2017 11:23 AM

Thanks for the info.
Looking for advice, opinion.

I've been following ACC for a while, really enamored by the Shorts, even got to see one randomly one day.

Been thinking about applying but the required contract, pay scale and possibility of being assigned a base with limited flying doesn't make it an attractive offer?

Any opinions?

slujaime 02-02-2017 10:35 AM

can anyone speak to operations at msy? how many hours? how senior, etc?

El Pilot 02-04-2017 01:21 PM

Do they get back to you via email or phone for interview? I heard they have a March class for FO's. I applied a few weeks back haven't heard anything.

Liberty Pilot 02-16-2017 10:29 AM

What is the typical schedule and bases for FO's? Are you home daily? how many overnights can you expect weekly? that sort of thing.

Shoot First 05-05-2017 07:52 PM

Just bringing this thread to the front of the line, in regards to the crash at Charleston, WV.

I don't know what happened or why other than whas on the news. My heartfelt condolences to the families.

Check their profile here on APC for bases. Schedule is M-F with weekends off. PR you fly during the day so you're home every night, and mainland you fly from the outstation to the hub at night and return in the morning.

How competitive is it to get a direct entry Captain position based in SJU if you have exceeded the 135 PIC minimum requirements? Seems like you have some class dates coming up based on the website. Is training done at Flight Safety at LGA? That is the only Shorts sim I could find searching on google. Thanks in advance!

Bons 08-13-2017 03:39 PM

Are there any pilots at ACC that have current info on any FO classes or hiring that may be happening? It looks like ct350 has several captain positions open and thought FO slots would open up soon too...Thanks!

Safety 08-29-2017 04:58 AM

Do they have a "training contract"?

Jet757 08-29-2017 10:26 AM

Since there's been some radio silence, here's some info.

Training contract is in place. 7.5k for one year.
SJU is the junior FO base, for CA's it's more of a roll of the dice.

Overall MDT, SAN, MYR, SAV are senior for CAs. SJU is more towards the senior side for CAs. The floater position is senior.

Competitive FO minimums are 500TT+ but they have hired guys with less than that.

Here are some things to know for perspective applicants

1. If you want to build time quickly for the regionals, ACC isn't the quickest way. Go instruct at a mill, fly survey or whatever. I picked ACC for the pay and quality of life as I prefer it to other part 91 jobs out there.

2. Just because you have a sweet CASS list, doesn't mean you can commute effectively. In fact most people live in base and stay there. The schedule is un-commutable on most bases.

3. There's a reason our callsign is "NIGHT cargo" - all flights in the U.S. take place for the backside of the clock. Keep that in mind. Sleep during the day guys, otherwise you're setting yourself up for failure. SJU crews fly during the day.

4. All aircraft have steam gauges. We're introducing G750s into the fleet for 2020 ADSB compliance but that's not gonna be here overnight. Expect some old school hard instrument flying.

The word on the street that there'll be another class (Possibly two more) before New years.

Hope this helps people out.

endlessnight 11-18-2017 01:38 PM

They are hiring for a class in January 2018.

Looking at their website, they want captains.

El Pilot 11-18-2017 04:18 PM

Anyone know if the 2 weeks on 1 week off is true for FO's? Currently have about 900tt and 90 hours multi but no CMEL yet..

endlessnight 11-18-2017 04:36 PM

Ya I think is for direct entry capts.

Jet757 11-19-2017 11:51 AM

2 week on 1 week off is only available in two bases: PHX & MDT. Both CAs and FOs get a week off. Certain SDF bases (DNV & ASW) have 2 week on 1 off for CAs, not for FOs. They're looking to add that rotation for CAs in BKW & CRW. Don't know when that's gonna happen.

We're currently overstaffed for FOs with 8 guys on reserve right now. Junior base is SJU. Don't even think about getting into PHX or MDT out of class.

lineupandhold 11-23-2017 11:14 PM

Is the new PHX base temporary? I'm typed in the Shorts and considered ACC but couldn't move east... now I'm leaving PHX for Denver next month and I saw a -360 taking off outta there the other day.

The word on the street is that it is temporary and ACC will only stay there through peak. The word from MGMT is that it will stick around. I will say that it's very senior for CAs.

endlessnight 01-01-2018 10:06 PM

Duty Rig

I interviewed with them, seem like a good group of people. It fell through when I mentioned 2 weeks on, 1 off. They are hiring for 3 weeks on, 1 off. Won't work in my situation, bummer.

2AUTO 02-03-2018 11:20 AM

Anyone in the February class? Accepted an FO position.

Bellair 02-03-2018 01:16 PM

I just turned them down. Seems like a good gig though.

ACC pay and benefits

What's it like for FO's now? Thx

Expect to be on reserve out of training right now. We have a good amount of FOs and it seems that after this round of base switching there'll still be one or two guys on reserve. There are talks of new routes opening up for FDX in Puerto Rico out of BQN. So chances of going there are higher.

Pay is the same as it was.

Any chance to get MDT out of training PIC?

also ive always wondered does the 3 on 1 off schedule mean that you are away from home 3 weeks straight? or are you just reporting to work 3 weeks straight with some days at home?

Thanks

MDT is ACC's upgrade base for FOs. People who are upgrading get sent there cause it gets a good amount of flight time. It's fairly senior for CAs as well as FOs. With an upgrade class happening soon, some of those guys will def want MDT and All of them will be senior to you. But hey anything can happen.

Well let's say you re based in BKW and you have 3/1. You're flying out of there the same run 3 weeks (your weekends are off on BKW) and then you're off for one whole week and you can go wherever you want.

flyingnerd 03-16-2018 07:17 PM

How senior is bkw? I’d love to get it

understood, so during your 3 weeks of flying are you ever in base for a significant period of time (more than 12 hours) or always on the road

How hard is it getting DNV out of training? What's the typical day of an FO look like? I've read through all the pages and didn't see these questions, hopefully I didn't miss anything!

There's 3 bids for it right now and the guy that just got awarded it is really low time so he's going to be there for a while. In the US the shows are all late in the evening, fly to the hub (SDF or CVG) sit for 3-5 hours, then back to base in the AM, Monday night through Saturday morning. FO's don't get a week off. In SJU it's M-F daytime flying with varying show and duty times.

After you interview and land the job, do they inform you of the junior bases and what the odds are of you getting a base before you start training or how does it work? This could become my first flying job and I've never seen that addressed.

Right now the junior base is SJU, and no other bases have openings. Currently 2 FO's on reserve and I believe 6 or 7 FO's in class right now so you would be on reserve for a while.

You guys looking for any FOs right now? Haven't seen anything advertised on the website for the longest.
