Ameristar Jet Charter?

Any info on Ameristar Jet Charter in Dallas would be appreciated.
Thanks!

They spend a ton of time on the road. Last I knew they where doing something like 21 on 7 off, and you could count on almost all of that 21 on being in a hotel away from home.

135 op using falcon 20s and Lears. Used to haul a lot of car parts into STL but Ford closed up and they quit coming in. From what I understand, the pilots fly their butts off. One of those places you go to build time fast, and get out and on to bigger and better things. Know nothing about pay, or schedule. The DC-9 and 737 crews are the only ones I recognized on a regular basis and after that the place seemed like a revolving door.

Ameristar flies a lot into my airport where I work lineservice. I've been told by several Ameristar pilots to NEVER work for their company. A couple of them were making plans to get out soon. Their main gripe is QOL, or lack of. One pilot asked me, "Dude, do you like women? Home? Friends?" "Yes" "DON'T FLY FOR AMERISTAR!" Just a line guy's point of view. Good luck.

mtsupilot09, where do you work the line at? If Ameristar is there so am I. Just curious. (By the way,I'm the big tipper)

I live two minutes from Ameristar's location and I've met one of their DC-9 captains. Spends his free time in a sweat suit, chain smoking and drinking to a blind state of stupor, has a good looking girlfriend and treats her like a doormat (he probably screws his FO). He's the kind of pilot no one wants to fly with. If all their pilots are like this guy (which I know is not the case) then I sure as hell wouldn't want to be a part of a group of pilots who need therapy for all the days they are gone.

A friend of mine in insurance has told me over and over again, begging actually, me and my friends, to stay away from Ameristar and Cherry Air because of the files he has seen on both companies (his father has access to them since he's in insurance also). Its a decision that is based on luck of the draw as to who the maintainers are at the time you are there. I personally see the mechs at Cherry and Ameristar drinking to oblivion whenever I visit the bar they hang out but that doesn't mean they can't fix an airplane.

coyote, I work line at MQY. Hey man, sorry to hear about you guys losing a crew earlier in Mexico.

Yes, me too. One of the guys I fly with here in Dallas was friends with the FO. The Feds are liable to shut that whole operation down is the latest I hear.

Hey everyone, did a quick search and this was the most recent information that came up. Just wondering if anyone is around Ameristar now and what the general consensus is. I'm in Texas now but facing a furlough and they are looking for FO's in Dallas.
