Fire Attack

Anyone have any experiences they'd like to share on the life of an air attack pilot for fire fighting? Seeing the guys battle it out in California makes one wonder what that's all about!

I've done a search, but didn't come up with much. Looking on pay, QOL, etc. Probably takes the same kind of mindset to fly up in Alaska, I'm guessing. I do know it's contract work, and that means it varies greatly from contractor to contractor.

Thanks!

I don't personally know a lot about fire attack but I do know two attack pilots. From what they have told me QOL is ok... not great but not too bad for the work that they do. As far as pay vs. risk goes I hope you enjoy adrenaline. There are a few websites that list the contractors available. I think it would be full of good experiences as mx has to be pretty good. Definitely a job that involves "growing a pair" as well as a job that teaches taking good calculated risks. Other than that pm me for more info: here is the best website that I was turned onto by my attack friends.
