135 certification application PASI

Has anyone out there recently submitted a PASI for 135 certification? I've been told by the FSDO there is a nation wide hold on 135 certificates until further notice. No explanation. Just wondering if anybody might have any info/recent experience.

No experience with this subject, but it may simply be a hold on any/all but the most routine of things until the new administrator gets in and sets his policies?? Just a guess, but I have seen that in the past.

There is in fact a nationwide hold on all 121 and 135 applications due to cost and manpower issues. If you are serious and have the will to persevere a call to your congressman and senator get's the ball rolling, but be ready to move on your part with no coaching from the feds.

This is correct. It took me 3 months just to receive a que letter.

I've been told expect to wait years. My plans besides complaining to a congressmen, set the ac as if it was operating on a charter certificate.
My thoughts is there wouldn't be as many surprise later.

Confirmed

I just talked to my local FSDO this morning and the 135 guy said NO new 135 certifications in the past several years and NO idea when the ban will be lifted. It all about not having the budget.

In private industry guys work nights and weekends to make up any shortfall. The rules for the FEDS are different.

I believe the ban is also for 121 too!!! 121 the most regulated de-regulated industry.

America, the land of opportunity, yeah right!

Best suggestion right now is to buy a currently existing certificate and do your own thing with it.

Submitted a PASI in 2011 and was just assigned a certification team this week. I will be going to the FSDO early to mid February to begin the 135 process.

I know of two NEW certifications going on in Southern California that started late last year. Seems there is no nationwide ban.

Would you mind sharing what companies?

I've heard about a start-up out of SMO operating PC-12s, I'm not sure if they are flying passengers yet.

There is another start-up in the SD area with a Premier-Jet, I don't know much about that company either...

Which regional FSDO are you working with and which type of certificate are you applying, if I might ask?
I understand the 3 FSDO's in Alaska are accepting PASI's. It would appear the "hold" is simply an extended delay based upon the individual regional FSDO's workload.
