Yeah, what cut it for me was that they make you stick around to captain until 1800, and then on top of that you have a 1 year contract with Mesa. No thanks.

Same...out of that "200+" applications they received, finding someone who has the qualifications and is willing to accept the terms must be difficult.

This type of paycheck is possible, however starting out at $12/hr times 65 hours guarantee is $780 per month. Then deduct $135/mo for health insurance (single) or $1280/mo (family), taxes etc...

To get to the pay $650-700 twice per month you need to be at the $18/hr (+6 month level) and because they would move you around between bases due to lack of crews, you get $35/day perdiem. The perdiem is paid is on the 15th. If you are fortunate to get based in PIT, you could fly over 90 hrs. However, if you are based in LNS where they don't fly on weekends, you may not come close to guarantee.

Geez 780 per month? I can sometimes make that in a week at my Cfi Job and I may be moving to another Cfi gig that pays almost double my current one. I'm glad I bailed on that interview.

Im currently at a Large 141 University in Virginia but im considering a move to a smaller 61 school in Pennsylvania that has a potential 135 opportunity attached and better pay.

nice, sounds pretty good. I learn my lesson a bit late but I'm working on my CFI right now

Default Contract?

I saw someone earlier in the thread mentioned a contract. Does anyone know what the contract is and what it consists of?

If my memory serves me, the contract is SIC until 1200, PIC until 1800 and a flow to Mesa for 1 year. I can't remember the $ amount (somewhere in the $5k range?). That seems excessive either way though.

It's been a while since my interview so I hope I got that right.
