Are you talking about Florida Jet Service out of FXE?

First hand...worked here for a few years. Great group of young guys to fly with and be on the road, very tight group I should also say. Things are changing there a lot as the industry starts to open up. It's a good place to start building a career and jet time if and only if you are young, single and can be away from the family for months at a time. The job is simple...:it's the company's way period. You'll flight a ton and work hard at the office/hanger as well cleaning, stocking planes and anything, and I do mean ANYTHING, else the owner/CP asks you to do from personal errands to supply shopping for the office staff. If you can keep your head down and just do the job without getting pulled into the drama while knowing it is a means to an end, it will get you jet time. Play is bad too, even for south florida.

Bad pay, away for months at a time, and lots on non-flying duties?
Wow, sign me up.

It's a really solid company. The guy who runs the place is very tough, but he knows the business. You will learn a lot, but work your butt off for the little cents you earn. Is it worth it? I think so. He gives guys a chance with low time to show their work ethic. He meets the entitlement generation head on.

Another thing. He doesn't mince words. When I started there he told me he would treat me like crap. I think the words were, " my captains are gods and my co pilots are snake ****. If you can cut it you can be a god" every FO I worked with is a captain now if they stayed. And they were all captains within 3 years of starting. I gotta respect a guy that tells it like it is. Other places will promise you the moon then treat you like a dog.

Way to develop that CRM/Safety culture. Tell a low time new hire flying a shiny jet, that the captains are "gods". I'm sure they're very at ease speaking up when they see something wrong in flight.

Nothing goes wrong when the captain is "god".

It was never meant in a CRM sense... More like a, "hey you are going to empty lavs and polish leading edges, buy newspapers, get the plane ready, and the captain will show up for the flight" I can see where you're coming from though. They always had a good policy of mentoring. Everyone gets typed, and when you fly you do so from the left seat.
