Part 135 Line Checks

Hi guys,

Anyone familiar with Part 135 Line Checks?

I am implementing line checks in my current company. Would like some feedback on how other guys with experience are doing it in terms of what is being evaluated and how things are conducted. Please pm me if possible.

Thanks.

Our company check airmen usually flies on a dead repo leg from point A to B while doing my annual line check. He is just checking we follow company SOP's and we are following Part 135 regs.for the flight,as well as checklist usage.

If you haven't looked at it, FAA Order 8900.1 has the info for conducting a line check and is an important resource for any 135 Management/Chief personnel to be familiar with.

In general, adherance to company policy, applicable FARs / opspecs, and a good sample of VFR/IFR procedures. If it's a SIC check, they are evaluated as a SIC, in addition to a scenario where the PIC becomes incapacitated. For a PIC check, including companies approved for single pilot ops, there is a crew evaluation as well as a single pilot scenario. A good starting point would be the Comm or ATP PTS, including emergency procedures and multiple flavors of approaches.
