Default hello

You seem to know what ypu are talking about ive alsl been tasked with an op to the bahamas and have an idea where to start but still have many questions.

1-update your insurance to cover you in the Bahamas

2-buy your customs decals online at the cbp (customs/border protection) site

3-your opspecs to include Bahamas if they don't already

If you aren't already familiar with the customs process into/out of the U.S., just ask me in the pm. Same goes for the Bahamas, paperwork is pretty easy, and you can find forms online too.

Fltplan's eapis service must be awesome! I never used it but it seems very convenient and worth the money. If not, it just means someone will have some more work to do at the computer.

Ever flown into/out of the Bahamas?

Friend that flew for Vintage Props & Jets said they'd always have 'stuff' for the customs officers in Marsh & Treasure. Turkeys around thanksgiving, video gaming systems around christmas, tires in April... they were never "bribes" per se... *knock on wood*

And it obviously worked, I recall getting a ride with them to Treasure Cay, one of the immigration ladies was sitting at the podium eating her lunch with some (obviously) passengers and crew waiting on the side. When we pulled up, she dropped her sandwich to clear us and it was off to the beach. I'm not sure the other pilot and his people were too happy.

I later spoke with some friends at a charter outfit who said that if they were a MINUTE past 5PM, they'd get nailed with massive overtime fees - and apparently this never happened to the Vintage flights...

so yes, get to know the customs folks.
