I can think of several reasons, but insurance is a very likely reason.

Thumbs down The beatings will continue

Now that the merger with WUP is happening the poor souls still lurking around at DPJ are getting hammered again. Well expect for their fearless leader who received a pay raise big enough to buy himself an Asston Martin. All the while, the pilots who fly Sleepy around with his latest future-ex-wife are having their compensation reduced. That right comrades, no more flight benefits for DPJ employees and the chatter on guard is that the men and women that have done their 10 years but have not yet reached age 50 will no longer qualify for retirement flight benefits either.

Sounds like a up and coming Northwest wannabe whose motto was "The only people we hate worse than out passengers are our employees."

Does DPJ have a training agreement to sign?

Currently 24 months, the recruiters are claiming they are trying to reduce it to 12.

Thanks for the response. Hopefully they do reduce it. I'm furloughed from my airline where I had a 24 month contract and I want to apply but really do not want to be stuck to another 24 month contract. Unfortunately with how the industry is may just have to take any opportunity that comes at this point.

Any chance you know what the contract is valued at?

Was told 9,500~12,500 dependant upon the aircraft, but I have not seen it in writing.

Heads up, the pool is 125 pilots deep with them not adding to the pool (last I heard).. first possible class just got pushed until the new year after a number of pushes this summer. Not trying to prevent you from applying but at this point its likely a long time before the pool gets dried up if at all. I've been in it since March. A contract is a mute point in todays market, if something really better comes along buy out the contract.

Other than the obvious being Covid, is there any other reason the class dates keep getting pushed back? Also any word on how integration with WheelsUp is going?
