Compensation is based on block hours with a minimum guarantee of 80 hrs. It is rare to even get close to minimum right now. We are seeing 50-60 hours a month but this will go up as new cities are integrated into the schedule. Duty days are fairly short 5-9 hrs. Overnights are fairly short and well spread out. We have a crew house not hotels. This is going to change I'm sure with some of the new destinations. Per diem starts after 24hrs away from base. You really won't see any per diem since the overnights are really short and spread out.
This information is based on DFW base. We do not see the schedules for other bases so I'm not sure how many hours they are getting.

I just got hired on at the Dallas base. My class date is next month. Could you tell me a bit more about the schedule? I've heard 4 on 3 off. Is that correct? Also, how is the schedule determined? Do you guys bid or does the company give you a schedule depending on the current needs?

The company builds the schedule per base at the moment, dependent on company needs/upcoming classes, ect. They try to keep the schedule to a 4/3 as much as possible, and keep the days worked per month in line with working 4 out of every 7 days.

Got a call from the director of training. He says they are currently looking for applicants willing to work in Los Angeles. I told him I was interested in Denver, and he said that Denver was full. He moved me to the Denvet "list". Any idea if positions will open up there?
