Required to live in base?

twebb 10-13-2015 11:45 AM

Yes, most people who have been interviewed live or have been willing to move close to base.

Sounds good. Thanks

LZU routes

I fly out of LZU now may shoot a resume over like the home everyday schedule.

How many runs are out of LZU and what are the times ?

How are the runs assigned bid system ?

What are the chances getting daytime run if they have any ?

Will the Phenom aircraft eventually go to other bases ?

Thanks for any info

No plans of putting the Phenom at LZU in the near future. Currently they have TBMs, Baron, and Pilatus. The TBMs will be gone in about six months; so they will probably train you only on the Baron and Pilatus.

There are 7 LZU runs. They depart anywhere from 1730-2030. Finish up by 0100. One is a very early morning run. Typically the same person does that run to prevent flip flopping day/night schedules.

Pilots are rotated through the different runs. There are 2 baron runs, you start on the baron as a new hire.

Great info, thanks. LZU is of interest to me as well - How many week nights are the LZU guys working?

Is there a typical progression time to the PC12 for someone with PIC Turbine/Turboprop experience?

Any Guard/Reservist Mil types making it work there?

Company uniforms?

Thanks again.

LZU - typically work 4 nights and 1 at home standby day during the weekday.

Id say most people get into the pc12 within 6 months. This will also be dependent on how fast they phase out the TBM. We only have a couple left, so its not that big of a factor. Having turbine time will help in knowing that youre prepared and experienced for it.

There is one air guard guy in LZU, he mentioned the company is working with him to be flexible on the schedule when needed.

What do they have at KDAL? From what I can tell, it's a PC-12 and a Phenom 100.

There is one pilot that is based there. He flies both the pc12 and phenom. Today the phenom is there, it just depends on how we have the pc12 spread out. That pilot flies 5 nights a week.
