You don't need 500 jet to be an FO. There is a 500 her Jet PIC requirement to be an Excel PIC, they are moving over guys that can upgrade quickly, otherwise they would need to hire a good number of street Captains. BTW this is a requirement from the same client that owns the aircraft and pays the salaries.
Look at the big picture, trey are taking delivery of 5 unexpected King Airs, 5 new Excels, and switching to a new schedule that demands a significant increase in staffing all at the same time.

Never used APC for a seat search but as they say, a first time for everything. No background in this kind of flying, none whatsoever. The King Air; got a route/nav display? Make hold laps on the A/P? Got a potty somebody else is supposed to service? Anybody out there make this transition from ACMI? From ACMI since longer than you care to remember?

We have some that came from North American, Evergreen, SkyLease and SkyKing. Probably other places like that, also.

The avionics are quite advanced. Currently Pro Line 21 that will do all that you mention, with an upgraded version coming in new deliveries for 2016. The potty is a pull out, serviced from the cabin. It isn't great, but isn't terrible. You will have to deal with it as a pilot, as you will have to deal with just about every aspect of the operation. There is a lot more to the job than going in the door and turning left .
