Career Advice = Stay Away
One look at their one sided Training Agreement / Promissory Note they send you to execute as you're boarding flight to Training Center not affording you time to have it professionally reviewed by your Legal Counsel surely not Ethical on their part. It goes pretty much downhill once you begin flying the line. They once hired the world famous Timmy that pretty much says it all.

Miami Air does the EXACT same thing. They shove the $18,000 training contract in front of you and make you sign it. No looking it over, consulting with your attorney, etc.

I can't speak about Hop jet, but he's either management or marketing. There is no way any line pilot would write what he wrote about Miami Air. He may be stuck here and wish those things were all true, but I can tell you that is not the way things are at Miami Air right now... not even close.

Any updates on Talon?
I interviewed a few years ago and was given all the paperwork to start training. After some research I decided to walk away. Wasn't a fan of the 24/7 on-call. I'm currently at Southern Air (recently bought by Atlas) flying international heavy cargo around the world. I live 5 minutes from Talons base in FRG. I stopped by their booth at WAI last month to chat and they just called me. Apparently they now have 12hr reserve periods which seems better than being on call 24/7... They told me based on my hours and lack of corporate types, I'd start on the H4000 at around $75-80k and upgrade in a year. I think my experience is worth more than that... So, any updates? Have things gotten any better or do they still suck? Are they still making guys sign training contracts in recurrent? I don't plan on walking away from my current gig, just curious if should even entertain the thought at all.
