Default Talon Air copilot sets record

Apparently he showed up drunk Thursday morning at KTVC. The Detroit Free Press reports his blood alcohol level as 0.30.

That's gotta be a record!

Authorities were summoned after the captain of the plane notified the tower at Cherry Capital Airport in Traverse City at 7:39 a.m. — as he was preparing to land — that something was wrong with his co-pilot.
"We are very proud of Captain Xxxx Xxxxx' immediate action in detecting the co-pilot's condition and removing him from his position," the company said in a statement. "This is yet another example of Talon Air's safety procedures working effectively on behalf of our clients and for airport safety.
Um, what? How do you fly a leg with someone who blows 0.3?

Immediate action? Unless the copilot slammed all the booze right before show-time, I don't know how you could allow that guy to fly. Wow.

Talon Air once again moves the bar. Not raises the bar, because it is already at a depth that nobody can fathom, but they have moved the bar once again, in the wrong direction. What a dog**** operation. How the hell did the CA fly a leg with this guy!?

There is no way given the timeline that this FO was sober on the first leg. (Unless he downed 15 mini bottles during the flight).... I don't know about you but if my FO showed up this stewed, there is no way I would let him near the airplane. Lots of ways to handle this without calling the cops!!! Yes the FO was unprofessional but having the police meet you on the ramp? There has to be more to the story....
Something tells me the first leg was occupied (i.e. Revenue) and the next leg was a reposition. Therefore a strong incentive to wait until AFTER the first flight... Question is, who convinced the Captain to launch with a drunk FO.

Now this seems spot on...
