Default Boutique Captain Contracts

Does anyone have any confirmed info on contracts for Captains? (i.e. Contract period, buyout amount, etc.)

PDX has been a disaster for them. Chronic maintenance problems. They only just recently added a 2nd bird and as of yesterday both birds were down at both airports (1 PDX and 1 PDT). They have ****ed off PDX management already and only been operating there for a short while.

That's interesting. The MX issues are the nature of the EAS beast, especially with a location like PDX way off the beaten path. I don't imagine that BTQ management has much involvement up there, so if we're "****ing off" the airport management, it's likely something the crews/CSAs up there need to address.

PDX is boasting numbers better than anyone has in nearly a decade since starting the route....far cry from disaster.

Just got an interesting email from our CEO that apparently we're starting to rent cars out of the airports we service - sounds like mostly the smaller EAS ones:

Nope definitely a corporate management issue. They made a bunch of really stupid requests to the port. And didn't let anyone know when they started operating. Just started flying pax and didn't let the port know they were starting commercial ops. The port knew they were there but didn't know specifically that they were starting to load commercial pax.

Cool company with cool airplanes but they seem to be figuring things out as the go. You can't do that in commercial aviation and expect to be taken seriously or be successful.

Sure would be nice if they were able to branch out to some other airports in this area as well. I live about 70 miles from Pendleton in the Tri-Cities. They would clean house here if they were able to provide service out of Pasco. Especially if they were able to keep it around $89 one way to Portland or Seattle.

Surprising they only had one plane on that route. Totally understandable from a cost perspective, but as it sounds like they have found out, maintenance can kill you. Good month for them though even with all the crappy weather we've had this winter.

Could not agree more with that statement from Av8tr, But that's what happens when all of your upper management is comprised of 20 something's with little to no airline experience and little to no previous 135 experience (except for the DO he has worked at a couple different airlines) Then on top of that our ADO is the most micromanaging person you will ever meet with little to no respect for any of the pilots.

It's almost like the company should slow down a bit and not go after every freaking route up for bid... Need to get the fleet and maintenance under control. What a concept.

I agree they're growing quickly and it's creating issues as a result, but they're handling it pretty well all things considered. Expanding MX to most bases is in the works, so that should help quite a bit.
