Light Twin / Single Instructor at AFW
 
Summary: Allen Corporation of America, operating in Dallas/Fort Worth out of the (AFW) Alliance Fort Worth airport provides currency instruction and check rides within the Federal Aviation Administration’s established Light Twin multi-engine/single-engine Event Base Currency Program as well as providing recurrent training in both the PA-44 and CE 172 aircraft.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Specific tasks to be performed by the Light Twin Instructor Pilot include but are not limited to the following:
• Provide flight training and checking in the PA-44 and CE-172 aircraft.
• Conduct pre-flight and post-flight briefings covering essential topics such as weather, route of flight, departure procedures, normal/emergency procedures, and tasks to be accomplished.
• Maintain a thorough knowledge of the aircraft systems, avionics, normal, and emergency procedures.
• Conduct all assigned instructional activities with an emphasis on safety, in accordance with our Safety Management System program.
• As Pilot-in-Command, apply the principles of Crew Resource Management.
• Utilize teamwork, multitasking, task prioritization, effective communication, and time management skills.
• Complete flight-related forms as necessary.
• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Individuals must be able to work legally in the United States and be able to pass background check and drug screen. Individuals must successfully complete an initial training program and check ride and annually thereafter complete recurrent training.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: B.S. in Aviation preferred, or a related field, and three years of closely related experience, or High School Diploma and Technical School training, and three years of closely related experience.

FLIGHT TIME AND CERTIFICATIONS:
• Minimum 800 hours with 1000 total flight time hours desired
• Minimum 300 hours as PIC of a multiengine aircraft
• Minimum 100 hours single engine dual given within 24 months or 300 hours single engine dual given total.
• Minimum 100 hours multi-engine dual given within 24 months or 300 hours multi-engine dual given total.
• All instructors must maintain at least a second class medical certificate
• Must have experience with the Garmin 500 and 1000 avionics.
• Must have Certified Flight Instructor (CFI), Multi-Engine Flight Instructor (MEI), Certified Flight Instructor Instrument (CFII)
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Alliance Airport (KAFW) is a Class D airfield located beneath the DFW class B airspace. Other operations at Alliance include GA, corporate, flight schools, drone and military operations on any given day. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
• Able to sit and work at the controls of an aircraft for extended periods of time.
• Able to stoop, kneel, bend at the waist and reach on a daily basis.
• Able to perform general flight operations activities on a daily basis.
• Able to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally
