Default Stan Musick DPE?

Hi everyone. Has anyone taken an ATP checkride with Stan Musick out of Peachtree City, GA. How was it?

Great to hear. What checkride did you take with him? Any areas he likes to hit hard?

No experience there, but he’s a very pragmatic guy. I would not expect a focus on any irrelevant gotchas.

I know Stan well. Medical doctor, too. He's done a lot of work for lower income; fierce defender of the people he's served.

He and I have shared a lot of smoke, flown a lot of formation with him. Wound up at the same tanker bases from time to time.

The only guy I know who deadsticked a Sea Fury to a successful landing while enroute.

Stan made the shortest landing I've ever seen in an Air Tractor at Reno Stead one year. He landed on the threshold and taxied clear using the access to the threshold. Most of us rolled out to the first access at mid-field. I wouldn't attempt what I saw Stan do: not because it's dangerous, but because what he did is beyond my ability, and like D. Harry says, a man's gotta know them. Stan knows his very, very well.

Never had a checkride, but he is my AME. Great guy. Active on the Beech forum. I actually didn't know he was a DPE.

Stan is good people. I know him from the Beechcraft forum and has helped keep a lot of guys flying. He'd be my AME if I lived closer.
