Still hoping to hear back from them.
I was just doing some snowball type thinking, if the company requires 2 pilots, 1 flying and the other doing the camera work and looking outside for traffic, couldn't the second pilot be considered a safety pilot?
With the 8 on 6 off schedule do they fly you out on day 1 and fly you back on day 8 or does it take away from the 6 days off you have?
Ray, did you finish your first full 8 day cycle?
Think it would be okay to give them a phone call to put a voice to my application?

The second pilot (right seat) is effectively acting as one, but since the pilot flying is not under the hood, you are not legally acting as a safety pilot
Day 1 is a travel day. Days 2-8 (Thurs-Wed) you fly production. Wednesday evening you fly home.
Sometimes you won't be able to fly home until Thursday, (or if you get a red eye, may not arrive until Thursday morning), but they are pretty good about working with you and the airline scheduled to get you home Wednesday.
I have found them to be very reasonable on travel issues. When the airlines don't have anything reasonable, they have released early.
Bert way I can describe the company travel so far is a lot of flexibility to prevent ridiculous results.
I finish up my week tomorrow. My day will start at 7:30am. My flight home arrives at 9pm. My "quitting" time was moved several hours earlier to accommodate getting on the last non-stop flight home, so I didn't have to get home at 1am after a two-leg trip.
As for calling, I don't really know. I haven't been here long enough to know any of that.
I might suggest a separate email simply asking for confirmation they received your app. Also, keep in mind, this is a small company, and a lot of the flight department still flys, so they are on the road for a week at a time.
Sorry I don't have better Guidance for you.
