How's that? I would say that's how most do it. It saves money and is an economical way to do it. And it's also for building the XC time needed for the rating. Killing two birds with one stone. Not sure where you get it's a recipe for disaster other than just pulling it out of thin air.

Depends on your ability. I'm sure some pilots need 40 or more hours with a CFII, but there are plenty who are fine with the 12 needed.

Hello! New to APC forums so I can't send a DM yet but I am a student over at McAir... just taking my Instrument Checkride on the 29th and will be looking to build some time. Send me a DM if you're still looking since I can't yet.

Looking for time building partners to fly cross country from KAPA to surrounding airports. Fly out mornings, lunch and back in the afternoon. Must be Private ASEL and Instrument Rated. One will be under the hood on the way out, the other on the way back to maximize loggable time. The way I understand the regs is that the safety pilot can log PIC during the time the other is under the hood, but cannot log cross country. Correct me if I am wrong with reliable sources. This is how the math will work on a typical flight:
C172N $100 Wet
2.0 Out
(Pilot A Logs 2.0 TT, 2.0 PIC, 2.0 CC & 1.8 Instrument)
(Pilot B Logs 1.8 TT & 1.8 PIC)
2.0 Back
(Pilot A Logs 1.8TT & 1.8 PIC)
(Pilot B Logs 2.0TT, 2.0 PIC, 2.0 CC & 1.8 Instrument)
Totals:
$200 Out of Pocket Per Pilot
3.8TT Per Pilot
3.8 PIC Per Pilot
2.0 CC Per Pilot
1.8 Instrument Per Pilot
$52 Per Hour Per Pilot Wet
If this sounds like a good deal to you, please PM me for my phone number so we can set up a time to start flying. I'm looking to fly at least once a week if not more. Cheers.

Hey there, I’m a cfi in denver, my name is Mary. I’m also a cfii. Have you considered flying with an instructor? I free lance on the side, outside of my company. Sometimes I’ll instruct for free if the student provides their own plane😊 I could log you dual given in exchange for letting me fly some as well not sure if that interests you
