If they were not going on their sixth year in divorce court, our household income would be what, well over 750K in ordinary W-2 income not including investments? Hmmm. So, no loans for me, parents handled that in cash. However, to be perfectly honest, I am possibly a bit discruntled that my parents told me that the best way to get to the legacies was to go and get my bachelor's degree from 18 - 22 in a non-aviation related field, which has screwed me over from competing with kids like the OP who have no life experience in anything except for aviation. So, I do vent and lash out at these folks from time to time. It's almost like they cheated. Oh, well, they went to college from their parents' basement while I was in the most prestigious fraternity at my university gaining real-world life experience and learning about things that I never would have studied from my parents' basement. I soloed on the day of my sixteenth birthday, and got my license on the day of my seventeenth birthday, so I'm not really too concerned regardless. It just isn't fun competing with folks like OP. Honest enough for you? Tool.
You're a tool. Get off of your high horse there buddy. No one wants to talk to someone like you in this industry.

To think young men and women in this country are giving their lives for this jack wagon. You do know there is a lot more to life than "competing with folks like OP"?

Yes, an epic fail, accidentally hitting the "c" key when I clearly meant to hit the "g" key while typing an essay from my phone. The other guy started it by perpetrating lies about my financial status for no good reason at all. I shouldn't have said what I said, but I wanted to be brutally honest, believable, and tell him that he is wrong. Sorry to those who I have offended. I was just upset by that troll.

And you got a certificate, not a license, maybe you should have focused on aviation not giving HJ's at your frat.

It's to bad with all that income, your parents can't buy you some humbleness and better attitude... Not everyone's family can afford to get a degree and flight training. Some have to work their asses off while training just to get their next hour of flight time. Then once done, work unrelated jobs just to keep the dream alive till they get their "big break". I'd say that's learning real life experience and finding out things aren't always sunshine and rainbows. To say they cheated because they went straight to flying is asinine and insulting and I think that's evident by some of the other members responses.

Man, you're in a great position. Is your goal to get to the airlines as soon as you qualify for the R-ATP? If so, do a lot of research before you go anywhere. Seniority is king in the airline world, so get your number ASAP. That means not signing any contracts/staying anywhere in the 135/91 world longer than you have to. I know you said you want turbine time, but if you're going to a regional you are more than qualified and will do just fine in a 121 training program. Most people these days who are your age get hired with 25 hours piston multi time. In this situation I would banner tow and get to 1450 as fast as humanly possible and get your resume into a regional.

What are your goals?? That will definitely change the answer to your question

I would consider just doing what you're doing now. Keep building up your time, and try to start at a regional a few months before your 21st birthday. You could do your R-ATP checkride as soon as you turn 21.

I saw this thread and just wanted to send a special kudos to OP. You're well ahead of the curve and should be proud of yourself.

Just wanted to share my congrats and support for clearly being driven and well diversified at such an early age.

Wish you all the best.
