Hiring - Plane for Cloud Seeding - Colorado
Hello!
Im new to these boards and new to the world of Airline forums in general.
Im trying to find some direction in terms of a company or private group that would have a small plane with cloud seeding capabilities out of Colorado or in the west coast area.
I know this is sort of an odd request but if someone here could point me in the right direction that would be great.
Just to provide some more information. this is for a small commercial shoot we are looking to get a quote for how much it would cost to rent the aircraft - Cost to get it to our location (Boulder Colorado) - Film it - take pictures - and fly it back
July 15th - 4- 6 hours total
Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Ryan

You might look at Weather Modification, Inc. WEATHER MODIFICATION: cloud seeding, atmospheric services - Weather Modification, Inc.
They operate piston, turboprop, and turbojet equipment.
Your description sounds like you'd want to bring it from it's base to Colorado to fly the 4-6 hours of photography, then pay for it to go back to it's base. If so, it's going to be closer to 12 hours at whatever rate you settle on for the equipment that you choose.
You're specifically looking to film an aircraft doing cloud seeding? It needs to be done in Colorado, vs. somewhere else?
Give WMI a call and see what they say.

Tangent alert:
I just finished a fascinating book called The Brothers Vonnegut: Science and Fiction in the House of Magic.
Bernard was a dedicated scientist at GE trying to figure out how to defeat Russia and win the Cold War by seeding clouds; Kurt was making a living working for GE writing the press releases about weather control and trying to sell short stories written in his spare time.
Good read.
