Default Flight Safety Academy

I was recently contacted from FSA and was wondering if anyone had any experience and or tips.

Their current offer is that they will give you 3 ratings, CFI,CFII and MEI for free, in return for 1200 hours (flying) given. Which if according to them, is around a year. I know before it was a 2 year contract.

So any thoughts or experiences from pilots who have worked there, or know about the school would be much appreciated.

Just left their as an instructor in August. Unlimited potential to work up management in the short time you have there (that’s what I did). Great school, and countless hours of flighttime to be taught as well as benefits that far exceedthe standard for a CFI. Do It.

You will not fly 1200hrs in a year. You may bill that many, but not fly it. There are briefings to be done, simulators session with brand new students to be done, and then there is the issue of not enough single engine VFR aircraft for the student load there. The pay is **** at $16/hr, but they offer benefits that no other flight schools do. Dont be surprised if it takes 6-12 months to get your CFI initial either.

FlightSafety was on my radar for quite awhile, but the cost is too high. Regarding the CFI program, I have heard from a few instructors that the paying students get priority when it comes to an instructor. So as a CFI student who FSA is paying for, you may only fly here and there.

Where did you hear it is just 1200 hours? Since when did it move it from the 2 year listed in their website?
