To all who have sent a pm. I am the owner of the Cherokee 140/160.
The reason for doing the longer xcountrys is to build more experience/dealing with avoiding weather.

Is there a need for a cheap-o airplane to build time in? If I was to offer a basic (think nav/com no gps) piper Cherokee 140 or Cessna 150/152 for 45 bucks an hour dry would there a lot of interest? PM me and let me know- I’m thinking about doing something like this here in Phoenix.

You certainly have a great idea! However, your expenses may be higher than anticipated. Aviation equipment is much higher in cost than let's say car parts.
For example, everytime I visit a A/P it cost me hundreds if not thousands.

Regards
