Safety Pilot south Florida

Hey everyone, if anyone needs a safety pilot to build instrument time or really for any reason at all, I’d be happy to help! I have 1200tt and I’m on the home stretch to 1500. Nearest airport is FXE but can go anywhere in South Florida.

Happy flying!

How do you plan on doing that?
As safety pilot you can’t log XC.

ZeroTT 09-12-2020 11:41 AM

How do you figure that?

Because you’re not doing the pilotage, dead reckoning or radio navigation required.
FAA Council ruling:
https://www.faa.gov/about/office_org...rpretation.pdf

One notable exception, XC for ATP does not require a landing > 50 nm
You and a buddy are flying to an airport 101NM away and he is PIC for a portion of the flight and you are PIC for a portion of the flight.
You can now log your part as XC with the understanding you need to log the furthest point he flew or the transfer point.
Either as lat/long or overhead an airport or VOR bearing/distance.

Thats ATP only though.
If I ever join the FAA this “safety pilot time” would really be my pet.
It was never the intend of the regulation to allow time building, the intend was regaining Instrument currency after your 6 months have expired and since the ‘look out’ has to be PIC they may log it.

neverposts 09-17-2020 10:08 PM

id rather you not tell him that so he can get told to pound sand in an interview. no matter what you log its the companies ball game and they can literally say sorry doesn't count. blows my mind how people try to cheat the system with ops specs or I'm logging dual time with this mei people that does this are just cheap and want to screw the system. since there is no rush now you might as well do it the right way would you rather have your tickets or flight time taken away? this is not a jab at you tired soul just an observation about how many pilots try to find a loophole. almost as disgusting as a gofundme account.

If I could ever conduct an Initial CFI checkride I’d have the applicant teach a lesson on logbooks and logging time ...for real.

I’d throw up my hands, admit defeat, and walk out lol.

Between my mil and civ logbooks and the differences in how the military and FAA log time...both my logbooks and my brain are a trashbag disaster.

I estimate that I've moved 400,000 people in the last five years and haven't logged a minute of flight time. That might be one way to fix the logbook problem.

neverposts 09-27-2020 01:53 AM

Tired soul and i are not talking about already being in the big metal dude. We are talking about those who game the system to get into a jet once you have 10k hours its all worthless...

You don’t have to Mac.
Your employers record keeping system covers any ‘logging’ requirements.
I was specifically talking about the 100+ hrs of time building in order to get to Commercial/Initial CFI

Safety Pilot

I'll be in FL later in the year, happy to act as Safety for IFR, XC, Night etc. SEL or Multi.

Don't need the hours, current IFR. Steam or Glass, just no crazy stuff!

Mentoring a speciality. Send me a PM...

bl00tdi 06-18-2021 12:10 PM
