Just Hit ATP Mins

Finally hit ATP mins, 1500, and was wondering if anyone knew of places that are hiring. I know because of covid the industry was hit hard, and jobs are scarce and competition is fierce at the moment. Any and all help/suggestions greatly appreciated!

Not sure what your current occupation is but if I were a CFI I'd try and get my MEI and build as much multi-time as I could.

I second that.
It's probably gonna be tough to get a part 135 gig right now. I know being a CFI is not very glorious but I'm sure things will improve soon.
Once the airlines are hiring again, you want to be as competitive as possible. The 25 hour multi minimum might be a thing of the past for a while.

Not aware of anything myself, but just wanted to say hang in there it'll get better. Shoot me a PM, happy to give resume feedback if it might help.

I think Tradewind was hiring recently for their PC-12 ops. Not sure if they still are.

I second the MEI thing. Hiring requirements may get dirty here for the next few years. More multi time and having CFI certs, could possibly put you ahead of many people!

Congrats! What a world we live in. Unfortunately, 1500 hours now doesn’t mean much. Especially without an ATP. You won’t get a call back unless you have it. Consider financing it. I paid for an ATP this fall, and continued to build flight time. I was offered a SIC job close to 2,000 hours.

I’m in a similar situation. Hit 1500 a couple of weeks ago. Unfortunately, with a family, I have to look for opportunities that will allow me to commute or be based in CVG/DAY. Hiring will return, it’s just a matter of when. I’ll be ready when the right opportunity comes along. Until then, I’ll keep instructing to build time. If your living situation is more flexible, there are a few opportunities in cargo, but keep building time.

I picked up my MEI, last summer, but haven’t used it yet since my flight school doesn’t have a twin and the school where I did my multi training doesn’t have enough multi students to need another MEI. I don’t know what the situation is elsewhere, but even if you can’t make use of it, having it can’t hurt.

Good luck in your search!

How’s your search going now? Looking for a pulse check on the industry.
