Seeking Info Becoming Aircraft Broker

Does anyone have some information on getting started in the broker business?

On widebody reserve for years to come at my airline and the few trips I do get called for give plenty of layover time to get some work done. Incredibly bored at home and have been looking for an entrepreneurial idea for some time now: Something I can do quasi-remotely, gain a hedge against furlough, and build into something bigger and bigger.

I have a few connections from my CFI days but wondering if there are any airline guys out there who have brokered GA planes on the side?

Another option to consider, on the brokerage side, is as an aircraft charter broker. A bunch out there, & loving it, mainly because, they own no planes & employ no pilots. So, they are completely free of stringent FAA requirements. When you look at their websites, you will see dozens & dozens of different aircraft types available for charter. From tiny turboprops & jets to Boeings & Airbuses.

Not sure how good of a hedge this would be against furlough. Any economic disaster that would cause airlines to furlough would likely decrease the need for aircraft brokers as well.
