Thanks! Accelerated Professional Pilot Program - The Fastest Multi Engine Time Building Program |
If I recall correctly, I think if you buy X amount of hours, you actually fly X/2 under the hood with, with the other part being safety pilot time. If that concerns you as far as getting a job, read some of the many posts regarding multi-engine time building. It has been long (and hotly) debated as to the worth of safety pilot time as far as getting a job.
The debate isn't about if you can "legally" log PIC as safety pilot (you can) but is it useful to help you land a job. Again, the topic has been flogged to death several time. The short answer? It depends :) But more to your original question, I have eyed that place. I like that they have a more diverse fleet of senecas - a bit more "real" twin than the trainer seminole. I even think a few might be certified for known ice, although being in florida that's not much of an issue. |
Do not I repeat do not use this company. Go to Ari Ben if you need some multi time.

Thanks for the advice!

I went to Ari Ben probably 12 years ago. The planes were okay. They wanted the time builders to fly at night but we knocked out the hours quick. I got my MEI there and they stuck me with a lot of wet tickets breaking them in. Flew all over Florida at night, 4+ hours a night. Knocked out the multi time quick though. Never really had any mx issues or anything. The Dutchess was a nice flying plane. Not sure if times have changed over there. It got me the 100 hours I needed to get on my schools insurance to teach in our twin.

As far as getting a job "paying to play" isn't near as good as getting legitimate PIC time like Amerifilight, or other 135 operators. Truthfully it just depends on the hiring need of the company and the other people they have interviewing. |

It's the lesser of two evils lol. The place he listed uses an MEI in the back seat and logs the time and half the planes on their website are not even theirs.
Anyone care to chime in about an MEI logging time from the backseat while someone is already logging PIC and someone logging PIC safety pilot time??? That just does not sound right..... |
I really wish I had more options build time. Paying is the only way I see right now. Although I'm not crazy about being a safety pilot..100 wet vs 265 an hr certainly looks very appealing The Louisville area doesn't have many options for a 325TT 10 ME!?!

Is that a serious question ? ;)
Sure it is. According to Cruz they are doing it. So can someone give some input. Doesn't seem legal to me at all. How could an instructor log PIC without sitting in one of the pilots seats, without access to the controls. Sounds shady to me.;) |

I would recommend Ari Ben, now called aviator college. I did all of my multi time building there and am instructing there now. It might not be the fastest, but it probably is the cheapest. The number of hours you fly per day depends a lot on you and your partner. The slackers won't fly after midnight and will cancel if there is a could in the sky, others will fly every night from 6pm to 6am. The airplanes are all old, but the MX is pretty good. The current director of MX has been there for about 3 years and he is great, so the stories you've heard about their MX from the past simply aren't true anymore.
I'm not sure exactly what the price is now, it was about $80/hr wet when I did it aver a year ago, fuel prices have gone up a lot since then though. Even if you don't want to count the safely pilot time, you're still logging multi time pretty cheap. Flight Training Programs - Aviator Flight Training College |

of course it is not legal...... How could one really expect to log flight time while sitting in the backseat? If you are sitting in the back you are just a passenger.... That is super shady and very desperate

I'm an MEI. And an ATP. That will be the day when I log time from the back seat. Guess I am old school. This is all a bunch of road apples.

For people that want an update on people getting done from Atriplep or Time Building Central. The gentleman that has 5 hours can come back anytime and finish it. We have completed his student name Michael Lin. He did 30 hours with no problems or issues. He flew out plane from RBD to HND in vegas. He flew from there to SJX ,then back to Dallas. He completed this in 4 days. We had a few others from this same school in Denton and they were all happy to. Please go to our website if your interested in time. We want this kid to come back an complete. Thanks for everybody interest. Happy flying, TBC.

Time building central is a 2 pilot crew just like ari ben, or aviatior college. We also offer a program where the person can pay for the entire plane and fly with a mentor for insurance. They is no question on who is PIC. The mentor is just riding along for our fleet insurance. Thanks to all that are interested in flying with TBC. We have had well over 3500 happy pilots that are flying with airline or corporate world wide that have came through our doors.
