Low Time Jobs Hunting...
I have been looking for several weeks now for what to do when I get out of the school house. I currently am a student and instructor for a University in Ohio teaching Part 141/61 candidates. Although it is nice, my time is near the end since we are only able to stay as student instructors so long.
What are some of the best low time building jobs anyone has seen. I have been putting my feelers out at other flight schools, pipeline patrols (many need 1000TT), and other various aspects of flying with low time. I currently have my CFI/II, Commercial AMEL/ASEL, 324TT, 80 Dual Given, 56 Instrument, and a whopping 13 Multi. Anyone have any ideas or guidance!? |

Jump pilot....my buddy just got a job dropping divers with around 250 hours.
|
Apply for an instructor position at Aces Aviation... we could possibly use an instructor this spring. Located in Beaver Falls, PA.... 10 minutes from the Ohio border.
|
Jbt1407, where did your friend find the jump pilot job?
|
We need an instructor. Email me if willing to relocate.

What is a "Student Instructor"? Is this a loophole for the University to not pay you for your services? Or do you mean they won't allow you to teach since you are an active student at the University? As mentioned, if you're willing to relocate there are plenty of Flight Instructor jobs out there.

Try american winds up in Akron. They will pay for CFI ratings. They've been posting for quite a while on climbto350.
I think they do foreign training. |

I think if I were a CFI looking for time, I might lighten my instructor load and do some of this flying if it fit some of my requirements. X/C time, flying outside of my usual locales, a chance to network with people outside the usual circles, etc.....plus - - pancakes breakfasts!

The only problem I think would be the lack of total time. The bracket they're shooting for is where total time is the holy grail. A person over the summer could do that with Cessna and get maybe a hundred hours. Or they could CFI and get maybe 300. At the end of the summer, that's a pretty big difference.
But, in terms of coolness for an internship, and stories to tell, flying what is no doubt a loaded Skycatcher around the country to fly ins is definitely ranked pretty far up there. |

More of that "vital" flight time VS. cool internship stories that you remember for a lifetime. If my cfi gig wasn't so important I would take the internship... Everyone will eventually get the flight time so you mine as well stick out from the crowd with something not everyone has done. |
What part of ohio are you in? I may have a little work in the huntington wv area. let me know.

If I wasn't way over 190lbs I'd look into it lol
