AirNet

Does anyone have any experience/information on this company (schedule, lifestyle, base location(s), Pay, etc.)? I saw the requirements for their pilots here. I know its cargo, and I also know its probably not a great schedule, but it has the appearance of a potential time building job.

I know of a guy who flies a 210 for them out of KMEM. He flies Monday-Friday nights to Dallas and back. He said they also have Barons and a few Lears. That's about all I know

Anyone who wants to be a successful/safe professional pilot needs single pilot IFR time. Airnet is one of the best.

It was my understanding that they had defaulted on a loan and were in the process of being parted out, sold off by the bank.

Airnet is headquartered here in Columbus, Ohio. They have a state of the art facility located just outside of the Rickenbacker Air National Guard base. I know quite a few guys who have flown with them and I even have interviewed with them for a non-pilot position. Down to earth company that does a majority of its routes at night. The bulk of their fleet is Baron's and Lear's. The minimums listed on their website are spot on and they no longer use the SIC time building program for the simple reason that they are hurting for pilots. The 1,000 hr suggested time for attending training is actually a nice way of saying mandatory. Their PIC "program" is actually geared tward getting the prop pilots upgraded to the Lear as soon as possible. Typical time from entry to Lear is about 3.5 years. Pay scale is as expected for a company that depends on low time pilots to do the bulk of the work. I have about 300 TT but will defiantly be sending them my resume when I hit the 1000TT mark.

if you have an ATP and 100 ME do you think upgrade to Lear sic is 3.5 years?

Upgrade totally dependent on movement within company. If you can get in, fly the profiles the way THEY teach and expect, you'll be a well seasoned pilot and not just an equipment operator/button pusher. Best flying I've ever done!
Good luck!

I live in Columbus - am highly interested in applying as soon as I hit 135 PIC minimums. Had heard a rumor that the Columbus-based flight ops were slowing down and that they wouldn't be hiring pilots for Columbus anytime soon. Do you guys know if there's any truth to that?

10 years ago when I interviewed there, they didn't hire into bases, they hired into vacancies. So you go where they need you, hence why I was elated i never got a call back from them. I was a "rah rah go airmet" at the interview, and Craig Washka was. Best thing that never happened for me

True, though I know from a friend who was recently hired that they do ask you if you are willing to relocate during the phone interview. He said he would be willing, they based him where he lives anyway. I figure telling them no and seeing what happens isn't too large a waste of effort.
