I don't think they actually have hard mins. Hired a friend of mine last summer the week after he got his single engine commercial with 265 hours.

He left after 8 months and right at 800 hours of flying there...just didn't enjoy the living in Hawaii. Got picked up flying FO in Lears back here at home.

I wonder how the quality of life is. I only have 350 Comm SEL/MEL and 37 multi hours. I would love to do something like this to grab some time. I'm almost done with my CFI though as well. But, could anyone provide an insight of how much it costs to live in hawaii compared to what your paid w/ this airline?

Skyhawk, what aspect didn't he like about the lifestyle?

It's very expensive there. One of the reasons I chose to apply was because I have a brother that lives there who I hopefully would be able to stay with. If I'm based on another island, a roommate would be a must for me. I was looking on craigslist and just to rent a single room in a house was like $500mo.

We have the most homeless per capita in the United States...so many don't do their homework before they come here. To live the stereotypical "Hawaii-life" that you see in the movies you need to be making roughly at least $150k a year. You won't be anywhere near that at Mokulele, or with 95% of jobs here for that matter. So many sad people here, I see it in their eyes daily.

Quick update, the November class is full. I believe there are no current openings.
