My best guess is American Aviation. Avoid them like the plague.

Affirm. Just turned down the job.

Larry Wright and American Aviation are well known for what has got to be a record number of engine failures and forced landings. They've been hounded by the FAA, and driven from airports. The pathetic nature of their maintenance is legendary, as is the nature of the way they operate.

If you're an urbanite, Page may be culture shock, but it's a beautiful area, and cost of living is low. It lays on the edge of the Navajo reservation, as well as on the edge of Lake Powell and the beginning of the Grand Canyon.

American Aviation isn't something you should consider, regardless of your level of inexperience, and regardless of the extent of your desperation.

Scenic Airlines / Grand Canyon Airlines is UBER short-staffed right now for the DHC-6. They need FOs and Captains like crazy.

Twin Otter FO MINS: Comm-Multi-Inst. That's it, they've hired guys with exactly 250 hours recently.

QOL is meh, but you're home every night.
No real schedule (5 and 2, you don't get your assignment til night before)
Really good pass benefits, but no CASS.
FO pay sucks, but such is life as a new pilot.
You work really really hard in the Summer. 12-14 hour days 5 days a week. 6-8 hours flying routine.

Apply at Home

Might have something to do with their extremely poor application website. To start with no place to up load a resume, no way to enter anything more than a single name for a reference, just a single line block to enter info with a character limitation. I could go on but wow they need help. Good bet people are not even able to complete the application online and give up.

I know. Its hilarious. The cause of their pilot staffing problems goes deeper than a bad website I am afraid.

I'm not sure what this poster's beef with American Aviation is but, I flew for them last year, 2016, and had a positive experience. While the pay isn't fantastic, the knowledge gained was worth it. Their maintenance was good, and I never saw, or heard, anything bad about it. To my knowledge there have been no engine failures, forced landings, etc. I did not see that the FAA was hounding them, just the typical once or twice a year check up. As far as being driven from airports, I, again, have heard nothing of the sort; and doubt the truth of that accusation.
