Loosing bonus from current job. Advice?
So I'm in the process of looking for my first low time, hour building job. I have a good lead on a job that I have a pretty good chance of landing. My question is I've been at the "sales" job I've had for 5 years now. If I were to stay till February I'd be getting a bonus for about 3k. If I get offered a job do I have any room to ask if they were able to match my bonus up front? It will suck missing out on a check for 3k.

Judging from your thread title you are obviously pay attention to detail so I am sure they will pay you whatever you ask.

Oh the spelling. I saw that after I posted it and can't figure out how to fix it. Simple mistake. Your comment had some Grammer issues if we're going that route

If you came to me as a zero-experience pilot and asked if I'd match the bonus from your non-flying job, I'd suggest you keep that job. Merely asking suggests that you're not very serious about the job for which you're applying. Think about it. Why should an employer that has no connection with your other job have any interest in paying out money to you that you haven't earned, for work you haven't done, when they have no such program or pay schedule? |
