Central Wisconsin VFR C-150 rental rates are $95/hour wet, so $70 dry doesn't seem too bad for the area.

Im out of 20GA. I sold my 150 and moved up to a Mooney 20C. Which i have to say, if you pull the power out and everything you can get 120 KTS and 6.5 an hour. Or you can go all out and get about 150KTS and burn about 10.5.

I fly over you guys pretty often. I go to CTJ for gas all the time (3,09/gallon mogas is hard to beat).

When I get my IR done in the 150, I'm planning on upgrading to a Mooney as well. Thinking of the longer body 20F though, I think 20C might be too small for me (never actually been in one though).

I think it's more of a low demand issue. Between long winters with bad weather, lower than average income, and being relatively rural with low population densities there's not exactly a long line of people waiting to rent. Consequently all the fixed operating costs are spread out over fewer hours, raising the hourly cost.

How do you like the Mooney? 20GA pilot! I live pretty close to 20GA, been wanting to land there but its private. Is it pretty easy to get permission to land there?

I would say that's relatively expensive depending on location. I was gonna buy a decent C150G for ~$20,000 and Timebuild / rent it out wet for $80 an hour or so.

Oh its pretty sweet. I was actually a really big BO guy and that's what i was planning on getting next but the Mooney I got was a hard deal to pass up.

But for 20GA, they allow anyone to land. Not a whole lot around it as far as food, and no crew car. Uber coverage is poor to none. But if you decided to land and check it out CTAF 122.9, and 28 is right traffic.
