Piedmont Airlines News & Rumors

Not trying to stir the pot, just trying to wrap my head around it all. With attrition higher than expected, then wouldn’t that bump people’s expected flow up a couple months? Maybe I’m still too green to see the negative from it all but if this trend continues then things would have to improve?

That makes sense. I’m new enough that almost any attrition is a good thing for me. Will see what that number looks like at the end of the year then I’ll get back to you on my feelings on it all.

Outside observer here, wondering why Piedmont management continually cannot get ahead of training. For year after year.
Have seen your schedules, as I recommended a friends son in 2016.
They just seem to waste all of your lives with low time 4 day trips. And you don't have any rigs to prevent them from defaulting to stupid. Seems his son is parked in hotel rooms far more than he flies. How anyone thinks building a month of low time low paying trips with hotel stays is good business is beyond me. It's simply insane. Total waste of crews, and you don't have enough. The minimum time for a four day should be 20 hard hours, and should actually be around 25.
It makes absolutely no sense why they don't have multiple day trips, especially one day trips seeing you only run two hubs.
No wonder nobody will come. The least they could do is pay you a little more and not be known as the lowest paid, but they seem too stupid even for that.
Good luck to all of you. It's totally obvious that your flight management is over their heads. You easily could be run like a mini SWA, but you have all the markings of a pre bankruptcy USAir management.

Why does the place still run like a 1970s turboprop airline operating on a shoe string budget? The company is afraid to spend money to improve things and placing jobs at risk by making the operation more expensive. On the other hand, the Pilot Union leadership is afraid to push for more improvements out of fear they’ll put their jobs and pensions at risk by making the operation more expensive.

A sustained hiring of your first officers from Spirit and Frontier would be devastating to AA Piedmont feed into KPHL. Both those airlines are cherry picking that hub.

The only people making out are the ones leaving.

I welcome all of these challenges to the company as having them forced up against the wall is the only thing that is going to get things to change here.

I am all for increasing the flow but only 6 new hires. How would the company be able to sustain if we do increase the flow to 10 or even 8? Maybe PBS needs to be mentioned since they say it'll make scheduling more efficient. Also, they are canceling upgrade classes so who would even give PDT a second thought.

It's just me trying to read between the lines of things that I've observed, but I believe we are beginning to experience that angle already.
