You don’t get captain pay (unless DEC) until your first flight as PIC off SOE. During SOE you are an FO on the release and paid as an FO. They need to change that. Too many people who have been here are stuck on FO pay while in training while DECs are getting huge bonuses and CA pay day one. Just hope these DECs realize they will be at the bottom of the bidding seniority and getting the worst of the worst schedules while everyone else who’s been here starts/continues to upgrade.

Heard from my buddy today they cancelled yet another upgrade class on the 25th. And a huge number of FO’s are going to Frontier. If that’s the case I doubt any classes will happen next month either. How are we still getting ANY new hires?

Who knows... I felt like we were doing really good last year until around November/December. This summer is going to get interesting as there is already 2000 hours open time for FOs and 1500 for captains just for April. Granted, BUPs haven’t been made yet. I’ll have to look to see where we were last month.
Oh wait, I can’t because our website has been down forever...

AWAC had a similar situation and once they started down that road it took them three years before they had enough FOs back on property to run upgrade classes.

I wouldn't be surprised on forced downgrades from the bottom of the list to cover the flying. This summer is not going to be pretty for piedmont.
