Piedmont Airlines News & Rumors
Really, why?
Because anonymity cannot get reprisals... maybe a few mins late off the gate that is otherwise waved off, now gets a section 19? I am well aware who may or may not read this. Same people that probably read my #ttm rants last year insulting their conduct.
If you don’t want to be embarrassed by pilots, don’t insult them with a lower than lowball offer.
Talk to my rep? The same rep than voted in an LOA without my vote?
And if you think something shouldn’t be posted...maybe don’t quote the whole post. I can edit mine, not yours (if I thought it necessary to delete).

look closely...
first, or last 15 days off, or sliding 15 days off.
as in, consecutive days off. which means you’ll work a normal schedule the other 15 days...it’s not a min of 15 days off, it’s 15 days in a row PLUS a few more days off, which they legally have to give us. maybe a 4/2/4/2 deal..you’re going to have more like 20 days off total in the month.

Yes, some things were kept quiet until there was a framework of a deal; but in no case was there a keep quiet order after a deal went public. In fact, there were several cases where the extreme loud revolt at how bad a deal was actually caused companies to improve the deal.

Why? Because the decades of hiding negotiations worked so well for everybody. In 2013-2014 when everybody started posting publicly, every other MEC or pilot group knew what not to go below, and every pilot group started voting no to concessions and acting as one large group..... up until one regional traded concessions for another carriers aircraft. Everybody else had voted no on concessions, and I mean everybody, some multiple times..... and it was all because the deals were NOT being hidden. There was also a great deal of behind the scenes communication among MEC's at both the regional and legacy levels. In several cases, other MEC's had the deals in front of them from other regionals in closed session before the other airlines own pilots had seen it, so that nobody undercut what was happing next door.

It’s the same guys who think Piedmont schedules can’t be any more efficient, management has their best interests at heart, and regionals flying bigger planes benefits their careers.

Thanks Cujo, needed to be said. Unfortunately there are many at Piedmont who don’t know, or don’t care, about the history of this industry. I’m not talking about anyone in particular on here, just a general observation. I bet many won’t know which carrier you’re talking about that undercut everyone else, and that is sad.

Preach it. I came across some notes from a cost analysis they had during a board meeting with Doug Parker a few years ago. They estimated if those backsta... I mean that carrier hadn’t done that.... regional pilots would be making on average approximately 10k-15k more per year at every carrier. Why this is not taught during basic Indoc is beyond me. Captains, mentor your FOs. They need to understand the history of what that carrier has done and how it will affect generations to come.
