Your interactions with management should be very limited. PDT is a good place to go for a reason (I.e. accrue flight time quickly, minimal reserve, close base), it’s a good stepping stone. If you look at it like that, it’s actually a good place to work. Company culture doesn’t really mean anything, cute Twitter posts and special pins don’t pay your bills.
Thanks for the info, I guess company culture is not really what I meant, I just meant does it feel like management generally treats you fairly? Do they tend to cheap out on everything? etc. I am looking for minimal reserve time and quick upgrade time, but the short flights and the poor trip efficiency kind of worries me, because (as does everybody else) I'd love to be home as much as possible. Once again, thanks for all the info.

Yes management is cheap. That’s how they’ve survived the last 60 years.
My flight time average is 1.4hrs per flight.
Don’t plan on being home more than 8 days a month, especially as a commuter, and you won’t be disappointed.

From your 1st day at INDOC expect roughly 24 months (7 in training to get to the line plus 17 months at 60 hours of block average if you fly only a regular schedule) to get the necessary 1000 121 SIC to upgrade to CA. You can trade your off time for more but that would reduce QOL more.

That said of the 3 WOs this is still the quickest path to the left seat by a bit. At PSA you might only have 400 hours by that point with all that airport reserve they don’t put in the brochure. Envoy would be faster than PSA.

What are junior base assignments with MDT now open? Is it possible to hold CLT rather quickly?

PHL and MDT available right away. CLT right now can be held about a month after OE.

Default PSA vs Piedmont

I’m about 2 months out from getting my 1500 hours and trying to decide in between Piedmont and PSA. I live in CLT so neither one would be a commute and both pay the same so I just wanted to hear some opinions on which would be the better option?

My understanding from research and pilot friends who work at each is that PSA has better schedules/QOL, but Piedmont will get you through training and holding a line MUCH faster.
