Omni is definitely a step up pay and QOL wise. Same with Kalitta.
Age depending, it’s a smart move to go on to an LCC now vs staying years to flow... a 2 year delay still costs $500k and $75k in 401k contributions on the backside of the career.
Buddy at JetBlue gets 17-18 days off a month and is looking at a 3 year upgrade on the 190... and makes as much as PDT captains an FO.
Spirit has a big aircraft order book that should keep its upgrade within 4 years for a while for folks who want it...
Going to SWA with the 10-12 year upgrade would even be a quicker then starting at PDT waiting to flow at PDT and then upgrade to group 2 CA at AA.

That’s funny because both my friends love it there. Especially with the new contract.

It’s a lot nicer getting more than 2-3 days off in a row and making way more $$$... and business class travel where you keep the airline and hotel points doesn’t suck either.

Life at PDT
If you commute it’s terrible until a year in than it just sucks . If able to hold a line, commute in on day one and commute home on day four unless you are junior manned which is happening a lot. For myself it means waking up on day one at 4 am, catching the early flight to philly getting a minute suite for an hours rest unless the crew room does it for you. Start work at 4 in the afternoon fly three segments finish at 1030 pm . Second day two segments finishing late again with min rest to swap to earlies, another min rest day to hopefully finish by 1 pm commute home jump seat because of basic economy fares all the flights are now full, to be at my house by 5 pm . 2 days off with scheduling calling on the last day off upto 4 times trying to make you answer so they can start you early . This means commuting in on a day off . Expect to spend 5 thousand that first year on hotels, food, unless you eat like crap and don’t mind being a fat regional pilot . While on build up lines expect to commute in the night before so on your day off and finish late day four . You guessed it one full day at home to start again. If you live in PHL things are better with 11 days off . Expect the lines to be played with , expect to see some lines with 13 days off but running more days than other lines , so effectively still getting 11 days off .

Flow
Unicorns and pots of gold under the rainbow . A lot can happen in 2 years let alone 8 years. No one is happy at piedmont , and if they are I haven’t met them or they are used to eating a sh** sandwich and this is just fresh out of the horse so tastes better. DEC getting captains pay from day 1 FO upgrades stuck on FO pay until they pass the upgrade. This entire company holds people based on the flow.
